RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in New Brunswick, NJ that is seeking an Apigee Specialist with Java or Python Programming experience.

As an Apigee Specialist, the appropriate candidate will be an Apigee experienced engineer, familiar with Apigee Edge (SaaS, ideally, though on-premise; OPDK experience is also fine). This new resource would work India hours, supporting an Engineer in India, as well as the local development team in Corvallis, OR. The focus of this role is on scripting cron-triggered API calls into the Apigee management API to generate reports and apply automation controls to fix up discrepancies within Apigee platform. As a stretch goal, the Apigee Specialist could also assist in API proxy development too.

REQUIREMENTS:
* 2+ years of real, strong development experience writing code which interacts with REST APIs
* Experience with cron-triggered task-automation, building and supporting Linux cron-jobs which support a production environment
* Knowledge of Apigee's information architecture (data model, interdependencies)
* Practical experience with (not just academic understanding of) SSL/TLS, certificates,Java keystores and truststores
* Experience in API design including security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, monetization, request and response modifications etc. using Apigee
* Knowledge of JavaScript for writing Apigee mashup APIs
* Knowledge of health checks and monitoring procedures for Apigee components & APIs
* Experience with API security norms and conversant in common Internet technologies and protocols viz HTTPs, SSL, OAuth, REST, JSON, XML
* Very trainable, fast learner, able to pick up and learn about Apigee with our mentorship
* Familiar with OAuth and API client development
* Experience writing server hosted code (vs. just mobile code) that interacts with APIs
* Experience with a SaaS cloud system, experience in coding against others pre-existing API
