Job Title: Data Engineer / Python Developer
Location: Palo Alto, CA 94301

Hours: M-F, 1st Shift

Data Engineer/Python developer
This role will help with building data ETL for production and operational data, manage analytic database to support organization-wide data insights.
- For candidates in Tempe, AZ or Bay Area, CA, it will be 100% onsite after pandemic. For other locations, 100% remote after the pandemic.
Interview Process:
1. 1 hr interview w/ HM (behavior + basic coding questions)
2. 1 hr coding interview (SQL + Python)
3. 1 hr tech interview (domain knowledge + Python)
4.. 30 min interview w/ data product manager to evaluate broader domain knowledge and team fit
At least 5-year experience working as a data engineer
Knowledge: Expertise in Relational Database, SQL, Python, data ETL, REST API integration, AWS services. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop data pipeline to acquire data from multiple data sources and store in the centralized data warehouse
- Ensures source system data availability and update accessibility, data integrity, restart ability, and error handling
- Develops SQL queries and ETL that is consistent and integrated with existing ETL processes
- Database management and schema/table design
- Oversee basic and advanced transformation activities such as normalization, cleansing, aggregation, summarization, and integration
- Create and implement automated processes to control data access, transformation, and movement
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Excellent SQL and data warehouse skills. Experience writing complex queries on large data sets.
- Hands-on ability in coding using Python and SQL
- Experience with data ETL and REST API integration
- Experience with AWS service such as S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, StepFunction, etc.
- Experience with big data solutions and PySpark - provided by Dice
