The College Board, the national educational organization, is conducting a search for a Full Stack Python Developer for our Technology department. This position is based in our Reston, Virginia, New York, NY or fully remote work arrangement.About the roleThe developer will be responsible for using Python and Amazon Web Services to design, develop, and deploy highly secure and scalable cloud-native solutions. This position will work on a small team solving high-priority challenges using machine learning microservices. This person must be eager to build best practices around automation, quality, and development, as well as be excited about learning and using new technologies.Responsibilities of the role Collaborate closely with the DevOps Engineer and Data Scientists on the team to rapidly build and deploy data science products in support of a wide portfolio of products.Develop a deep understanding of user needs and drive projects from the beginning (collaboratively defining requirements) to end (monitoring and operation of production services).Design, develop, deploy and monitor production microservices on AWS.Develop data pipelines and secure storage for a variety of repositories including relational, non-relational, and object storage.Follow best practices around version control, testing, and CI/CD pipeline.Qualifications needed for the roleBA/BS required (major in an analytical field preferred).5+ years relevant work experience.Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience with full stack Python development. (Boto3, Flask, and PyTest especially desired)Experienced with AWS or other Cloud Services (CloudFormation, CDK, EC2, Lambda, Fargate, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, S3, CloudWatch, Athena, Glue, API Gateway, Rt53, and DynamoDB are especially desired).Experience with CI/CD and hands-on development, testing, deployment, and monitoring of production microservices.Proficient in SQL and knowledgeable in relational and non-relational data storage.Expertise with Git, including branching workflowsAbility and enthusiasm to learn new technologies as requiredGood communicator with practical decision-making skills, and the ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.Proven track record of training and coaching less experienced teammates in new technologies, eager to help others grow their skills to enable the success of an entire team.Preferred skills for the roleStrong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability.Experience using libraries and frameworks where it makes sense, while still understanding how each line in your codebase works.Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker)Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously and effectively in a cross-functional team environment.Eager to lead by example and through peer collaboration and coaching.The ethos of continuous improvement and interest in learning new things.Strong ability to understand and internalize the big-picture and broader implications of design and development decisions.Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work with a diverse set of colleagues, across functions and from different organizations.Self-starter, ability to set priorities, work independently and attain goals.General understanding of Data Science concepts.Experience working as part of an Agile team.#LI-LINKEDIN#LI-REMOTE
