Our platform helps renewable developers identify quality sites for new solar farms, wind farms, and energy storage assets faster and more accurately than traditional tools. AO works with top solar, wind, and battery developers across the US and abroad to efficiently bring more renewable energy onto the power grid.
Position Summary
Our company is looking to hire an experienced Full-stack Developer with 7+ years experience to lead the development of various services in our platform. Your duties will include developing, maintaining, and performing an owner level role over software and services in our company, including such things as our internal javascript sdk, an internal component library, 3rd party integrations, machine learning workflows, authentication, data integration, and other core pieces of our software system. Our software frontend is developed in Angular and our backend is primarily in node and python using kubernetes as a container orchestration system. As a senior developer, you will help in mentoring junior and mid level developers and increasing and sharing development knowledge within the team. Our team uses an agile kanban development approach and is a fully remote team.
Developer Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality software design and architecture
• Taking ownership of services and applications
• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Review and debug code
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
• Mentoring junior and mid level developers

Developer Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer
• Extensive experience in software development, scripting and project management
• Familiarity with agile kanban development process
• In-depth knowledge of selected programming languages (Python, Node)
• In-depth knowledge of software architecture (rest api, events, messaging, queues, pub/sub, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases

(Firebase)

• In-depth knowledge and experience cloud based computing (AWS, GCP)
• In-depth knowledge and experience with containers and orchestration (Docker,

Kubernetes)

• Experience with frontend frameworks (Angular/Material, Open layers mapping)
• Experience with GIS software and systems
• Experience with a remote development team
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills

Salary & Benefits

• $135K - $185K
• Salary range is based on years of experience, experience in industry, and amount of qualifications met.
