Principal Engineer (React/Python) - 100% Remote
Optomi, in partnership with a software consulting company, is seeking a Principal Engineer to fulfill a contract-to-hire opportunity with a client based out of Michigan. In this role, the Principal Engineer will focus on long term engineering vision and code fidelity, while supporting the core engineering team.

• Computer Science or similar degree
• 5+ years professional experience
• 4+ years of experience with Python/Flask, React/Redux, MySQL, Redis etc.
• Terraform, Ansible, and Docker for infrastructure and deployment
• Experience working across all layers of a software products
• Experience designing, implementing, and deploying elegant solutions to complex problems
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Comfortable to operate and lead in a dynamic environment

• Working hands on and leading the development of a software product
• Optimize our CI build pipeline by utilizing new Docker features
• Implement the end-to-end UI, APIs, database models and integrations
• Experiment with new technologies and innovative ways to solve problems
• Responsibility and ownership for a product's engineering quality
• Lead and hold other engineers accountable
• Conduct new infrastructure or architecture changes upon pull request reviews

• Cloud experience: Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud
• RabbitMQ for async processing
