Job Description:The RoleAs a Principal Python / Data Engineer you will play a key role in designing and delivering strategic as well as quick turn-around projects in the Quant & Risk space. You will work closely with quantitative analysts, quant operations as well as peer technology teams in a highly iterative delivery model supportingthe needs ofour investment professionals and senior management in theareas ofcustom tools development, data analysis & information representationThis position can be located inBoston, MerrimackThe Expertise and Skills You Bring BS or MS in Computer Science or engineering related degree, or equivalent.Strong Python development skills and knowledge of Python packages such as Pandas and NumPy.Strong database knowledge e.g. Oracle/PLSQL, ODS, WarehouseExperience in building and designing solutions for data warehouse and experience in working with large data setsExperience with data movement and ETLExperience with AWS /Azure cloud environment development and deploymentExperience with Cloud data storage and access using Snowflake / S3 is a plusKnowledge of Java and Angular is a plusA qualified candidate will be bright, highly motivated and self-starting, able to work effectively within a small dynamic team, as well as work productively on independent assignments.You have 10+ years of software engineering development experience.You are a skilled engineer capable of moving seamlessly between iterative prototyping and enterprise strength application/service development.Familiarity with asset classes such as equity and fixed-income securities is a plus.The TeamThe Quant & Risk technology team is responsiblefor the development and support of theQuant environment covering subject areas such as alpha, risk, attribution, and common data that includes fund holdings, benchmarks, risk models, security reference data, performance data, and market data.
