JCW is currently working on a search for a Python Developer to work within the Risk team of a leading trading firm for either their Chicago or New York City location. The qualified candidate will work alongside a team of more traditional Risk Managers looking to this individual to help conduct research, automate complicated tasks, drive initiatives to improve the firm's risk layer and/or ability to monitor and evaluate risk and hypothetical scenarios.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with people from a variety of teams across the firm
Proven success working with large data sets
Excellent programming skills, with the ability to do complex debugging, design work, and problem solving

At least 2+ years of python programming experience is required
Experience working on a Linux platform
Proficient in at least one scripting language

Preferred but not required:

Experience in the trading industry
Experience working with Django or Flask
Experience managing a MySQL (or similar) database(s)
Working knowledge of C++
