Meade, MarylandJOB DESCRIPTION:A team player on the STEAR (Secure the Enterprise Analytics Response) Team will use mathematical models, statistics, and algorithms to analyze complex systems. The driving idea behind STEAR is to collaborate with management and stakeholders to design and improve STE operations in order to make better decisions through the collection and analysis of data. STEAR supports key decision-making processes allowing for problems to be solved while measuring actual results. The goal is to provide a rational basis for decision-making by seeking to understand and structure complex situations, and to utilize this understanding to predict system behavior and improve system security. In this role, the Software / Application Engineer will provide the development, testing, deployment and sustainment of various Python based ReST endpoints, microservices, and data model management capabilities, utilizing Django and Flask frameworks to interact with data models and send data upon request in JSON format to UI front ends. REQUIRED SKILLS:Experience with ReST endpoint development, Python, Django and/or Flask, data modeling in MongoDB or MariaDB, microservice modelingDESIRED SKILLS: Experience in Swagger, Docker, PyCharm, JSON, Jira/Confluence, Agile environmentLABOR CATEGORY QUALIFICATIONS TABLE for (SWE) Software Application Engineer The role and responsibilities of an Application Engineer - develops and manages software tools in support of Enterprise Management. Formulates and defines specifications for software applications or modifies and maintains existing applications using engineering releases and utilities provided by the software distributor. Conducts program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation. Performs user administration on Enterprise Management supporting technologies. (SWE) Application Engineer, Level IV CERTIFICATION: N/A EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE: Degree or higher in computer engineering or in a field related to the computer engineering or computer science disciplines. • Doctorate + 4 year experience, OR • Master's Degree + 6 years of experience, OR • Bachelor's Degree + 8 years of experience, OR • Associate's Degree + 10 years of experience, OR • No Degree + 12 years of experience.
