Job Title: REMOTE DevOps Engineer - Python, OpenStack, Kubernetes

Job Location: 100% REMOTE - preference given to candidates near Plano, TX or Boston, MA

Compensation: $120K - $150K base salary depending on experience

What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who can help us build an automated CI/CD workflow, understands the benefits that it brings, understands the trade-offs made during the design and implementation of that system and then can contribute to the improvement of that system by enhancing the tools and workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Build automated CI/CD workflows and virtual infrastructure
  • Install, deploy, and manage OpenStack, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift on bare metal
  • Build internal virtual private clouds
  • Build infrastructure testbeds
  • Own and solve problems on an almost daily basis.
  • Vision to see how a solution will be used by a wide variety of people, and a drive to learn new technologies, not just the latest tools.
  • Describe their vision succinctly to other engineers and able to seek opinions and listen carefully to explanations, and to ask questions in order to gain a full understanding of the scope of an issue.
  • Communicate progress in an agile environment with team members spread across multiple geographies.
What You Need for this Position

BS / MS in Computer Science / Engineering with at least 5 years experience with the following:
  • Python coding and familiarity with Shell scripting
  • Linux experience
  • Experience installing and managing OpenStack / Kubernetes / OpenShift on bare metal servers
  • Experience with at least 2 virtualization technologies
Preferred
  • Experience with any of the following: Metal-as-a-Service (MAAS), Cobbler, Juju, and/or Terraform
  • Experience with log aggregation and/or monitoring tools is a plus
  • Experience with ansible, Juju or other configuration tools is a plus
  • Experience with CI tools (Bamboo, gitlab, jenkins) is a plus
  • Experience with security, license and opensource scanners is a plus
  • Experience with artifact and package management tools (e.g., artifactory) is a plus
