We are looking for a senior Python developer with several years work experience with GIS/Geospatial Data. In this position, you will develop applications geared toward the manipulation and management of earth science data, both remote sensing and climate model output, including a very large enterprise geodatabase / repository of high-resolution imagery. You will work with users to address data and coding issues associated with the analysis of science data.

Data and data workflows are managed with ESRI tools and Open-Source Python libraries. Some other application development activities may also be required.

Data formats: Raster, NetCDF

Familiarity with data transfer tools, e.g. wget, curl, GridFTP, a plus

The data is hosted on a linux environment, so familiarity with linux is essential.

Minimum 3-5 years hands-on work experience using Python to manage GIS data required.

Must be able to work independently.

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree desired.

Position is full-time, on-site (post-Covid restrictions) at NASA Goddard in Greenbelt, MD.
