Job Description

We are looking for someone with Python and Django experience who can build out and implement API endpoints to enhance the functionality of our service and improve the overall end-user experience.

Additional responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

• Assisting the data engineering team in improving/debugging ETL pipelines

• Working in close conjunction with data science and backend engineering team to coordinate project development

We are looking for highly organized and motivated individuals who are comfortable working within a fast-paced start-up environment. A qualified candidate would be able to independently and quickly learn new tools but also an effective teammate that is able to coordinate with the various data and engineering teams.

Job Requirements

• Expert development skills in Python (Preferred 4-5 years experience)

• Knowledge of high-level python frameworks ideally Django, Flask

• Ability to build out API endpoints

• Experience working with Relational and Non-Relational Databases (MySQL, mongoDB, etc)

• Knowledge of common data engineering tools (Spark/DataBricks, Kafka/Kinesis)

• Experienced at working within AWS context

• Must be adept at version control and managing/coordinating repositories among a development team (GitHub)

• Experience with building services with exhaustive testing (unit, integration, regression testing)

• Knowledge of web scraping, experience with scraping frameworks like scrapy and scraping services like scrapinghub would be preferred

• Experience working with docker containers and orchestrating with kubernetes is preferred

• Experience building and scaling out data infrastructure is preferred

Preferred/Exceptional Qualifications

• Background in data science and/or machine learning

• Experience working with python ML packages and frameworks (PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow)

• Experience developing and implementing end-to-end NLP and Computer Vision models

• Experience deploying production-level ML code and models on services or frameworks (SageMaker, Heroku, Flask)
