Job Title: Software Engineer in Test - Python, Test Automation
Job Location: Castle Rock, CO
Compensation: $80K - $90K Depending on Experience

Our company is a flight operations performance engineering firm, established in 1999, that specializes in Runway Analysis, Weight and Balance, and Flight Planning solutions for the airline and corporate flight operations industry. The aircraft we provide data for range from airline operated small turbo-prop aircraft (regional airline market) and wide body aircraft (international carrier) to corporate turbo-prop aircraft and large cabin ultra-long haul business aircraft.

What You Will Be Doing

As SDET, you'll be an essential part of a high performing agile development team focused on building the framework to enable automated testing to improve test coverage and work side by side with the development team to ensure testability is accounted for in designs and implementations for new feature development and tech debt refactoring.

Responsibilities Include The Following

You'll be able to drive quality within the team by encouraging team members to test their code at all levels (unit tests, integration tests, performance tests, end to end tests, security tests. etc.), play a critical role in designing, developing and implementing test automation strategies and ensuring the test infrastructure availability to support continuous testing efforts.
  • Participate fully as a member of the automated testing agile development team
  • Independently complete complex coding tasks as part of two-week sprint cycles in order to create, maintain, and enhance automated tests and the automated testing framework
  • Create and configure test environments where automated tests will run
  • Build automated test suites to exercise our web application using Python, PyUnit, and Selenium.
  • Build and maintain our mobile testing framework using Swift.
  • Build and maintain backend API tests using Postman and Python.
  • Execute automated tests, analyze the results, and report defects
  • Provide careful code reviews to ensure testability is considered
  • Follow code standards and adhere to the established development process
  • Participate in team Scrum events (including backlog grooming, stand ups, planning, reviews and retrospectives) and ensure that requirements are met
  • Review test cases and scenarios with the QA team to ensure automated tests are covering accurate requirements
  • Automate the collection and visibility QA metrics/KPIs in order to educate stakeholders and influence decisions.
  • Actively refine automated tests to eliminate sources of test automation flakiness and increase confidence in test automation.
What You Need for this Position

Bachelor's Degree (Master's a plus) in Computer Science or similar discipline with 2-3+ years of experience with the following:
  • Hands-on test automation development, with experience building a test automation suite from the ground up a plus
  • Python
  • Object-oriented programming experience; programming design best practices; ability to develop solutions in solving complex automation needs
  • Microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Test methodology and automation strategies
  • Unit, Integration/Mid-Level and Acceptance testing
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Testing tools such as Jenkins, Xcode server, Fastlane etc. to automatically test and release products
Nice To Haves
  • iOS mobile test automation experience
  • Swift
  • AWS or similar cloud environment experience
  • Experience with aviation software products/applications
